Sunday Summer Solstice Recital on a Sunny Summer's Eve
My sister, Nanette Harvey, organized a piano recital with some of her nieces and nephews from both sides of the family that happened to be in town, along with her daughter; because they missed her daughters recital at home. Here is the program. Note: The special guest was David Hales, my brother, he said he played as a bribe to his two piano playing kids, Nicole and Taylor. It would have been nice for me to film these musical numbers and nicer still if I had managed to write down what they played, but, here are images of their backs. They all did extremely well and it was truly was a super Sunday Summer Solstice Recital on a Sunny Sunday Summer's Eve. Nanette prepared, peanut butter cookies with a kiss in the middle, lemon bars and we had left over spice cake from my Mom's Birthday party.

Though I'm not a Mom, being single and the aunt of 23.5 nieces and nephew, plus I count a few from previous relationships, which is why I have this particular plant tis year. I'd forgotten to take one in 2008, which was in a pokadot "cocopot" (as opposed to a "teapot", ha ha; Mormon's don't drink caffeinated tea), thanks to Jim Bern I have this one. I still have the pot, but here is the plant growing happily in the kitchen. Thanks Jim for remembering me.

These are the amazingly beautiful (even more amazing is that they're still alive) "African Violets" from 2007.

Glass Magic - Dale Chihuly at the de Young
A night at the museum, member's night at the de Young museum in Golden Gate Park. My friend Liesel and I sipped the free Calistoga (there was free wine as well), nibbled on the popcorn, nuts, and trail mix. Like everything San Francisco does, this exhibit is over the top and exquisitely done. To my amazement they allowed photography, without a flash, of course. Enjoy a sampling.
